Write for us
We welcome focused pitches that help readers understand a specific part of rugby. Send proposals through the Contact page, choosing the editorial question option and outlining the idea in your message.
What we welcome
Pitch explanations of a law, tactical pattern, playing role or format that a reader can use to follow the game. We also consider concise histories of rugby conventions when the background clarifies how the game is played or watched now.
A useful pitch
Name the reader's question, state the central point in a sentence and explain what makes your proposed treatment distinct. Include a short outline, the category it fits and any sources or expertise the piece would rely on. Do not send a finished article unless we request one.
Scope and standards
We favour precise, evergreen subjects over match recaps, unsupported claims or broad opinion pieces. Explain technical terms, separate fact from interpretation, and identify the version of rugby when it affects the explanation. A pitch is not a promise of publication.
